Entry: Oh how much I love the snow!!! :) Tuesday, November 29, 2005

A shiver goes up the spine as I step out of the building,
The winter is here again with harsh winds blowing!
All caretakers with shovels as if on a mission,
A transperent white sheath blocking my vision!
The snow on the sloping roofs... it looks pretty and neat,
The constant struggle I go though to keep myself on my feet!
Funky caps, colourful gloves and the warmth of mittons,
The classy trench coats with those huge buttons!
The stylish scarves in a perfect knot,
Those flasks with coffee simmering hot!
What cosy attire from head to toes,
Flushed pink faces with cherry red nose!
The beauty of white that spreads all over the place,
All my fatigue seems to vanish without a trace!

For me, Minneapolis may have come to represent more than my fair share of hurt, sorrows and misery but one thing I have to say, its has also iven me one of my most favourite expereinces of a lifetime!
I just love those snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes!! :):)

There are somethings that become a part,
Of the experiences you hold close to heart,
With this poem of yours I now know,
That one of them is snow.

Actually, a blog pal of mine (Kirthi) had written a post on snow just a couple of days ago and Ramani "contributed" the link to this post there :)

I was Ramani's classmate in last two years of school... I was also in IITM but a diff branch.

I'll be quite glad to teach anyone bridge... but slight problem: you're a few hundred miles away!!

... and I forgot to write in the last comment: nice poem!

P.S. I re-read my comment on Ramani's blog to you and realized that it had come out nasty, which is not at all what I intended :) apologies!!

You know the problem with excellent blogs...they scare away the ones which are on the way...maybe cause they seem trivial before the one that was...but trivial ones are necessary for the good ones to shine through...

Hi,
Finally it's nice to see someone who still loves Snow as dearly as me. Undoubtedly, i have the poorest of poetic sense, but still...
It surprises me when people here are irritating each other's ears off when it starts snowing. personally I enjoy every moment of those falling flakes, carelessly getting carried around by most delicate breezes, taking an eternity to finally land before they linger around like a 16 yr old. Even when there are piles of those flakes, it brings back memories of "khovalela NaraL" everytime I take them in my palms. wish they could taste as fresh n sweet as NaraL!!
I have tried to take so many pictures of this beautiful season, but obviously enough never could get myself in those. (no one wants to get out in snow, u c?...)
I am so used to the endless rattle on ceiling when it rains in India, the conspicuous lack of sound and ubiquitous silence of this country even when it snows makes it even more lovable I guess.
Thanx for sharing this wonderful feeling....
